Dear Classmates,

We have a great opportunity for you to double your contributions to the Class of 56 Scholarship Fund. A classmate has offered to match all contributions up to an aggregate total of $10,000. With the rest of us contributing, it would be a total of $20,000 added to our present fund. No gift is too small. With this opportunity every $1.00 becomes $2.00.

Through the generosity of many alumni, we have been able to award a scholarship to a deserving graduate since 2003. Funds are sent to the school, not to the individual. Each applicant is required to meet several criteria and to write an essay on what an education from RIHS has meant to them. You will be gratified to know that RIHS offers a quality education and produces outstanding students.

We have a goal of reaching $56,000 so that we can assure that scholarships will continue beyond our lifetimes. Reaching that goal will also allow us to offer two scholarships each year.

Please consider making a gift that will be matched by our generous classmate. All gifts received before December 31^st, 2011 will be matched. You can use your mandatory IRA withdrawal or give stocks with a capital gain and avoid taxes. You can also include the Foundation in your will, although that contribution cannot be matched.
